CFIA HISTORY

The Chicago Flight Instructor Association was founded in 1977, with a total of 206 charter members.

The organization was formed to assist and guide flight instructors through the pitfalls of ever changing training techniques, regulations and legal consequences.

Through continuous Chicago Flight Instructor Association Safety Seminars and many other sponsored safety programs, a very high degree of success has been achieved and maintained.

Our current President, Verne Jobst, has fulfilled his goal of compiling excellent educational Safety Seminars for the Association.

We were the recipient of the 1997 Spirit of Flight Award, honoring that accomplishment.
